Heliweld arc stabilizer HFAS-1

I just won it with a huge pile of other stuff in a military auction. (4x4x2 foot triwall full of tools, $400).

Based on my limited readings, it looks like it could let me TIG weld if I had a AC buzzbox. Is that right?

Yes the high frequency is used to initiate TIG welding.
