How do you use this thing (engraver bit)

How do you properly use an engraving bit? I bought the RCS-125-2

I'm assuming you spin them pretty fast since the effective cutter diameter is just about nil, depth of cut isn't going to be much since it is engraving. I sure don't want my first attempt to start with a SNAP.

I'm sure material makes all the difference. We (the kid programmed) did about 500 custom stainless steel belt buckles. Started out real high on RPM and found better tool life at something like 1750 with oil. Tool life was a bitch on this one, went to using bits ground on the deckle one flute grinder and just put in a new tool after every ten batch (ten buckles clamped down at a time)
