Mounting a lab tripod to metal base

Hi all,

I hope this is the right forum I'm asking in. I have a small lab tripod (for holding beaker/flask) that I want to mount firmly to an aluminium base. The setup is shown below: -- / \ / \

The tripod legs are made of steel. I'm looking for prefrely a non- permanent solution to mount them.

Thanks

How about you glue some rare earth magnets to the base?

RTV silicone cement.

I'd second that suggestion. Particularly if you use the donut-shaped ones, with a centre hole to fit the leg of the tripod. Those little suckers are STRONG!

Non-permanent, and easy! - Hot Melt Glue Removal with a little pulling or a heat gun.

A little more durable - epoxy Removal with a heat gun (epoxy's like plastic, so it melts)

More time consuming but more durable yet - drill holes through the aluminum and into the tripod legs. Tap the holes in the tripod legs and screw the legs to the aluminum base.
