OT: Need Source for Switch

Scenario...hydraulic dump application that for some damned reason came with a limit "chain" that the ram will easily break instead of it doing any limiting. But we don't want the ram to fully extend. So I'm thinking a switch attached somehow to the ram that's normally-closed and will open when we get to full extension is the way to limit it better.

The application is on a vehicle, so the switch needs to be weatherproof and needs to have some easy way to actuate it (I can make a stainless steel cable or something). Suggestions on where to find such a beast? Something NAPA would have that would work? Or I don't mind ordering something, either.

Possibly move the mounts and let the cylinder extend, or, disassemble the cylinder and put a stop collar around the rod (internally). HTH. Ken.

This is the way I would go . You can buy the collars real cheap or make up your own if you have a lathe . Installing them is easy enough . Once in its pretty much fool proof . Luck Ken Cutt
