Greetings Terry, In a recent post by you, the subject of which is now in my filters so I cannot retrieve it, someone was accused of making up something to support their viewpoint. You said they must be a Liberal. I am sure you would consider me a "Liberal" because of some of my viewpoints. For example I think we should have universal health care in our country and I think that Planned Parenthood is a good organization, and I think abortion should be legal. I also believe the second ammendment to the US Constitution allows us as private citizens to keep and bear arms. But I am not a liar. In your post you accuse me of being a liar, of making things up to support my point of view, just because I am a "Liberal". You can search my posts here on rcm going back about twenty years to see if I have ever lied to someone here or made stuff up to support my position or view. I have never hidden behind a false email address, the correct one is in every one of my posts, as is my real name. You should be ashamed of your statement. Liberals in aggregate are just as honest and patriotic as any of the other political persuasions in aggregate here in the USA. Have I ever lied to you when you asked for help on some project? Have I ever made stuff up? Have I ever lumped you in with others and insulted you because of your ideology? You know the answer is no. So why the f*ck do you think what you said is OK? Statements like yours are a big reason rcm is almost useless now for anything metal related. I have tried very hard to avoid all the political shit here and try to filter all of it out. It's too bad I saw your post before I added a new filter for the subject you posted to, I thought you were a stand up guy who treated people fairly, who judged people individually. Well ... there are liberals , and there are people who have some liberal beliefs - and some conservative beliefs . Those who I consider "liberals" will stand their ground even while having their nose ground in the facts they are attempting to refute . You have never done anything to make me think you belong in that class of people and I am truly sorry that you have lumped yourself in with them . I always thought you were somewhere close to the middle in your political leanings . FWIW I have no use for those at the rabid far right extreme either . I think we agree on universal health care , but the programs instituted by the current administration are not the answer . I personally think that abortion is being misused as a means of birth control , though I believe it should be available in some cases . Planned Parenthood at it's inception was a great program that did in fact help people to plan how to have babies when they wanted them . It has to all appearances become a means to promote abortions and , if the stories I've heard are true , a lucrative source of fetal tissue for sale - I don't know all the facts and withhold judgement on that aspect . I have often learned from your posts , and up til now have had a good deal of respect for you . Have I ever said anything TO YOU that would make you think otherwise ? I think not . As far as the metalworking aspect , I think you'll find that the majority of my posts are in fact on topic . I try hard to not respond to the political stuff , but sometimes I do comment .

Your blanket statement that Liberals are liars implied that I'm a liar.

Terry-Since I fall on what is now considered the liberal side of the political spectrum I am a liberal. It nothing to do with ME lumping myself in with some group but instead is what OTHERS call me. As to abortion being misused for birth control you should talk to women who have had to go through one. There are of course a few, like teens and drug abusers, who don't plan ahead and use some other form of birth control but the vast majority of women who get abortions do so because other methods of birth control failed. And as to Planned Parenthood to all appearances being a means to promote abortions you are just plain wrong. Why don't you check into what they actually do? It is easy and informative. One of their goals is to reduce as much as possible the incidence of abortions. They are still helping people to PLAN PARENTHOOD, which means avoiding unwanted pregnancies, not eliminating a pregnancy once it occurs. Look, I don't like this political discussion going on here.
