I've spent part of two days with a gent from a spindle supplier that is helpingus correctvibration issues with our test cells.What I've learned so far is this guy seems to know what he is doing and thelocal firmthat was doing the balancing let go of the guy that knew what he was doing.So, I am interested atm on learning about the basics of ballancing spindles. Also what is the price range of equipment for doing this? The gent is using anIRD devicethat is rather old, has one accelerometer, and a strobe that he uses some of thetime.Spindles are in the 3600 rpm range, driven by belt from a 75hp motor.Thanks,Wes

Thanks a TON for that, Rick, you hit the motherload with those! Having a few hours of actual lectures is going to make it a lot easier for me to know how to do that (saved 'em using keepvid.com).

I took a look too Rick, the lecture does a very good job of letting the student visualize the issue before the math.

I just watched your first link and the 2 plane, I'm not sure but I think he solves the 2 plane vector in less steps than I was taught.

I'm going to have to go back and see... Sure wish he would have covered trim balance calcs, though.
