Does anyone know a source for small quantities of acme screwed rod, or similar?
About 6-10 mm dia, for use with steppers under CNC control. I could use M6 @ 1 mm pitch threaded rod, which works great as far as the software etc goes, but I'd prefer something more mechanically accurate.
(I'm only cutting foam, there is no force involved)

Can't you cut it on your own lathe - the thread shape is one of the simplest around?
If no lathe - try joining WWSME - no shortage of willing helpers.
