The top slide on my Southbend had rather a lot of play in it, and I managed to buy a secondhand Boxford top slide to fit onto it from ebay. This has the advantage that you get larger dials as well (the Southbend ones are not very easy to read). The new top slide arrived today, and was in good condition and had no backlash (as advertised). However I had forgotton to check one minor point -it's metric! The cross slide (and old top slide) are imperial.
So, after a rambling introduction, doese anyone have an imperial Boxford top slide that they would like to swap for a metric one, or does anyone have an imperial feed screw, nut & dial that they want to sell. Or, as a final option, doese anyone have a metric cross slide feed screw, nut & dial that they would sell (and I'll convert the whole thing to metric).
