Is there Anybody out there who can suggest any means by which machined surfaces of plastics - especially polyethylene - can be improved, or even polished/burnished?

Many plastics can be buffed - but it requires the use of specially formulated buffing compounds and the right kind of polishing mop. Canning make an extensive range of buffing soaps, available from Walsh's in Clerkenwell, London.
