There is an advertisement in the April 2005 issue of 'Engineering in
Miniature" for a G13 (6 1/2" centre height) geared head Holbrook tool
room lathe. Advert says "excellent clean working condition ... best
offer around £550". There is not much detail about this particular model
on but as the satisfied owner of a
50-year-old B8 (4") I can vouch for the quality and refinement of
Holbrooks in general. For starters, when new they came with an NPL
certified lead screw. Lead screw and feed drive are separate with a
micro-adjustable dog-clutch (there are not many machines on which you
can screw-cut in direct drive with confidence!).
Reply is to a 01662 phone number. It is poor netiquette to publish a
telephone number on an open forum without the owner's permission but I
will gladly forward the full number to anyone who may wish to contact me
off-list (Use the "reply-to" address in the header of this posting or
"mike-h at ada-augusta dot demon dot co dot uk").
