Source of Imperial oil seals?

I need to replace some seals on an Alexander T&C grinder I'm rebuilding. In both cases the seals operate on sliding shafts, and are to keep grinding dust out of cast iron bearings.

Sizes are 1 1/4 OD, 15/16 ID, 5/32 thick, and 3/4 OD, 3/8 ID, 5/32 thick. I've tried all my local bearing suppliers (e.g. Blue Glacier), who either say "metric only mate" or tell me the sizes I need were never made! No luck Googling either.

Does anyone know of a likely source?

TIA

Mike

There shouldn't be a problem getting imperial seals (I generally go to Wyko, Fenners as was). Do you have any leeway over the thickness, 5/32 seems a bit unusual and you might have more luck with other thicknesses.

Every bearing supplier I go to has them. You clearly have some duff contacts. My favoured local source is Chelmer Bearing Supplies in Chelmsford. I'm Andrew would take a card and post them if asked. tel 01245 281218

Thanks to all who replied.

I tried Charles' contact at Chelmer Bearing Supplies. Just called me back to say that after a lot of searching he has found a specialist supplier who has the non-standard sizes I need. He was also happy to take a card number, and send them to me. Brilliant! Thanks Charles.

Just to close the loop on this one, Andrew at Chelmer Bearing Services supplied the seals I needed by post in just 2 days. Very impressive service, highly recommended.
