JELD-WEN CHAIR IN WOOD-BASED COMPOSITE SCIENCE The Department of Wood Science & Engineering at Oregon State University is seeking applicants for a time tenured faculty position with Professor rank. Chair appointment is for a five-year term with reappointment possible. Applicants are sought for a new position that is expected to build and lead a research and graduate education program that will make new discoveries and help solve problems that will enable the broad wood-based composites industry, and the users of those materials, to be more innovative and competitive in the golbal marketplace. The incumbent will also contribute to the instruction and outreach missions of the Department. Participation is also expected in College, University and professional activities. Applicants must have a Ph.D., or equivalent, in wood science, material science/ engineering, polymer science/ engineering or closely allied field with significant experience in research related to wood- or natural materials-based composites; be recognized as a leading scholar in their discipline nationally and internationally; have experience and scholarly credentials appropriate to Full Professor rank; demonstrated ability to build, manage and financially support successful programs; have strong inerpersonal and communcations skills, and have a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
