Does anyone know of any literature that describes chain scissioning, i.e., average molecular weight reduction as a function of radiation dose, for different types of radiation?

The Polymer Handbook has a chapter on this subject, loaded with citations for a very wide range of polymers. I would suggest that you refine your search to a specific polymer, as not all polymers are affected the same way.
