Does anyone know of any UK based suppliers of caterpillar tracks, which would be suitable for small robots?

is a fantastic resource for 'bot building, it's a teaching resource site with loads of bits & pieces.
check under Mechanical Components / Adhesives & you'll find caterpillar tacks.

Timing belts are a frequently-recommended option for caterpillar tracks, and have fairly wide availability. There are always various types available on the surplus market, and automobile timing belts (for overhead cam engines) are always available. The latter are *very* tough, but can be a bit inflexible for a low-powered drive system.
