Cool. A shoe-foot. I had thought about something like this, but more along the lines of a wheel that could be rotated around a pivot to take over for the feet on smooth surfaces. Shows there's always another way to solve a problem.

Pretty cool. It looks like the complexity is simply being bi-ped. Once on wheels, the problem isn't too much worse than the segway.
