New releases of the Framsticks Simulator and Framsticks Theater (v2.11)

Dear All,

We would like to announce the release of the next version of Framsticks Simulator and Framsticks Theater, v2.11. The previous notification was sent in August 2004, so it is a significant update.

Framsticks is a versatile simulator of artificial life forms, used for research and education in many fields of science, including evolutionary computation, artificial intelligence, neural networks, robotics, biology, cognitive sciences, and neuroscience.

The Framsticks Theater is an easy-to-use application which illustrates some basic phenomena, like genes and genetics, mutation, evolution, user-driven evolution and artificial selection, walking and swimming, artificial life simulation, virtual world interactions, etc. It includes a number of "shows", and new shows can be added by advanced users or developers.

Version 2.11 fixes problems found in previous versions and includes many enhancements of the Framsticks scripting language, which is now a powerful way of controlling simulation, evolution, and Framsticks Theater shows. New experiment definitions have also been added, and new styles of 3D visualization have been created. For a complete list of changes, see
