    --Three come to mind, but they're all web based:     -Tribe.net probably has groups; they've switched to a regional
model so the default will take you to folks in your area doing similar stuff.     -Yahoo's got several     -CSM Robotics http://www.csmrobotics.com/ is a class offered in San Mateo, CA and there's a semi-active community discussion going on there.

There's the Atlanta club site, http://botlanta.org - there's both a web BBS and an email "list-bot" associated with the site.
There are several other clubs around the USA and presumably worldwide. Google for hobby robot, robot club or other keyword combinations.
