I was thinking about building a gravy powered turkey-bot. The question is: Should it have feathers? And can I make the Gobble-Gobble sound with the speak-jet chip?

Ah, the classic feather-conundrum. I'd suggest you research prior work. MIT seems to think feathers are superfluous:
