No they refused to sell direclty to us (rocket folks) first. Since rocket folk were going through the "fireworks industry" they deleted them too to get at us.
The whole thing is incompatible with their BATFE charter.
Just FACTUAL Jerry
Interesting... according to the announcement on the linked page, the reason given by DaveyFire was that they kept getting named in lawsuits involving fireworks accidents, and having to defend themselves, even though no court ever held that a defect in their product was responsible.
I suspect that rocket use is "lost in the noise" compared to that.

Really?
Maybe the rocket ban is entirely a disconnect then. But it preceeded to about 2 years ago or so.
I wonder if it was related to igniter companies "catching up" with the death of 27 CFR 55.141-a-7-v, just a bit late?
Rocket use was definltely front and center on the radar 2 years ago.
Fireworks is a MAJOR market segment for them.
If you told Daveyfire that you were a rocket vendor they refused to talk to you, and you needed to buy them through their fireworks vendors....

Yep, another casualty of our screwed up legal system, in which anyone with "deep pockets" gets dragged into court regardless of who or what was actually at fault. We really need some serious reform!
Simple. Let the Judge award the defense triple costs when the suit has no chance of success - and make the complainant's attorney jointly and severally liable with the complainant for the award.
Do similarly when the defense has no chance of winning.
Random observations:
Apparently the pockets don't have to be all that deep; I can't imagine DaveyFire being all that large a company.
Most places in the world, the loser pays the legal costs - I'm sure this cuts down on he "scattergun" lawsuits.
Price a light airplane sometime. Considerably less complex mechanically than the typical automobile, but costs five times as much. Guess why?
Didn't the statement from Alan Broca imply they were closing down, not just cutting fireworks sales?
Daveyfire itself is closing down, yes. Another company is being formed to focus on the blasting industry and whatever else. No more e-matches for the fireworks industry from them period in any guise.
Wouldn't you agree whatever regulations and market conditions brought this outcome is bad?
