Is the problem with fixing seams with the corrugated metal finish a problem with all kits or are there just a few lemons out there??

haven't built my 1/48 yet but on the airfix and heller 1/72 you have to massage a bit. i used a number 11 to trim and shave a match. again used the top/bottom half glue on.
trick is to have a piece the same scale in the scrap box and use it as a press. easy in 1/72, but who junks a 1/48 ju52?
