I haven't posted to RMR since AOL dumped usenet groups in March or so. Monitoring and posting via Google is not nearly as convenient, for that matter none of the browser-based methods are. Anyway....
Since January, I've been doing a number of flights using a BoosterVision Gearcam onboard a number of rockets.
The most recent videos are from a flight of the Orbital SkyDart Project (2-stage R/C gliders, lifting off on two clustered G12's) flown at Southern Thunder last month:
The E9 in the SkyDart made for the best staging effect yet - the white smoke showing ignition, and the higher thrust was better than an E6 for staging, even if not boosting as high.
Other videos are linked from this page:
Electric powered sailplane flights.
Cuda R/C R/G with a mirror-flip set-up to look rearward on boost and forward for glide (including 2-staged C6 boost views as well as E6).
Electric powered plane airborne view of a G powered rocekt taking off.
Sunguidance flights showing nose control surface movement and flight response.
Cuda R/C R/G video version 2, with camera in rotating pod (180 degree rotation & less drag) and Li-Poly batteries to reduce the onboard mass by about 1.5 ounces from the original set-up, for a net added mass of about 1 ounce. More staged C6 and E6 boosts, longer & better glides due to the reduced weight and lower drag from the original version in February.
