Yes and it is not for lack of vision or lack of technology. It seems to be a mostly political decision by Rutan.

So much of the language Rutan uses to promote SpaceshipOne is right out of the Korey Kline mantra book.

ALL tests on flight weight hardware for example. That is a Kline mantra.

As far as I am concernbed he got screwed. Just like Rutan tried to screw me in negotiations for a solid version. To OWN everthing including my own intellectual property. Nope. Bye bye.

High profile contracts usually are. It's the people factor or rather Rutan "felt the love" with SpaceDev and didn't with eAC. Being overly confident sometimes works against a firm, ya'know?

Might be a Kline mantra, but it's also been a Rutan mantra from the get go and not just on this project. There are no deadlines. It all works when it's time for it to work.
