Air Compressor Deal at Target

I was at a Target store today in Denver and found that they had put their air compressors on clearance. I picked one up for $44.98 (original price $89)! This compressor has a max pressure of 100 psi and a 2 gallon tank. Two gauges display the tank pressure and the regulator pressure. Included are a hose, a tire filler nozzle, and a blower nozzle. All I needed was a $1.50 1/4" brass nipple to attach my airbrush. This unit works like a charm! More info about this compressor can be found at:

From my understanding of how Target clears out old merchancise, this compressor should be on sale at most Target stores. This was a STEAL for $45!

The compressor pictured looks quite similar to the Campbell Hausfeld I got a couple years ago. It may be a Campbell Hausfeld or a Chinese copy which is probably just as good. Mine is a great little compressor so it looks like you got a really good deal.

But Max! It only ROARS while it is filling the tank! :-)

It's a little louder than a vacuum cleaner.

But...

The compressor pump "fills" the reservoir tank. Once you have some pressure in the tank (I pumped it up to about 50 PSI), you turn the pump off and the unit is SILENT while you're airbrushing. I figured that I can do more than an entire painting session, probably two or three, at 50 PSI. The really great thing is that now I can pump up the pressure early in the evening while everyone in the house is awake (I have teenagers so no one notices the noise anyway ;^), and paint into the wee hours of the night without disturbing anyone.

you could also run an airline and powerswitch to the garage or insulated closet.

Bill, I bought a sanborn compressor about 10 years ago with a tank, and paid

175.00 for it. The freakin thing sounds like a jackhammer! I hate to use it even if it only runs while the 2.5 gallom tank fills. I still use my venerable Paasche D type I bought from an art supply store 20 years ago!
