B52 Flap Details

I have looked around for good reference photos or even line drawings of the B52 Flap bay details and flap mechanisms. Monograms B-52D has some detail, but want to scratchbuilt the bays for the AMT B-52H. Is the details different? Does anyone one know of where these type of specific information might be found????

Thanks in advance

They're the same. I'd actually suggest doing what I did and kitbash the Monogram and AMT. It _REALLY_ isn't all that hard. I use to have everything on my web page and if you would like I can send you the pics I took during the production.

I can check around in my stash, but I _SERIOUSLY_ doubt that I have any detail pics of the flap/wing details.

The three references that I'd suggest are the Squadron 'walk around' book, there's an issue of WAPJ on the

52H, and there's an Aviation Leak and Space tech. which also focused on the 52H and the hope to re-engine them. That's what I used as primary references when I did my kitbash.

Holpe this helps!

Thanks Drew, I had thought about the kitbashing idea...but never seriously fit up the wings on the AMT fuselage. I will give it a go. And thnks for the reference material....

The only really hard part to the kitbash is getting the cuts right on the forward part of the Monogram wing, and cutting the chunks of wing root from the AMT fuselage. And don't follow the instructions in the FSM article for the weapons bay exaclty. It's a lot easier to build the bomb bay then slip it into the assembled forward fuselage halves. You'll have to cut a lot of the mating surface on the lower half of the assembled forward fuselage and add internal bracing and lots of CA glue to keep the forward and rear fuselage assys together.

other than that it was a straightforward build. It's also nice in that you get the weapons pylons with the Monogram kit!
