I presume you are referring to the Avro Manchester! The history of this "snake bitten" aircraft is covered in some detail in "Avro Manchester, the Legend Behind the Lancaster" by Robert Kirby. Midland Publishing, Ltd. ISBN 1-85780-028-1 It is pretty much a certainty that a bomber whose un reliable engines made it very chancy for operations over land was never considered for long range over water operations. The Manchester never entered service with Coastal Command.

i saw 2 references today that said they did, so i'm trying to nail that down. i didn't think it likely either, but the sites were not related. the idea of a manchester in coastal command white seemed pretty cool. so i'll keep looking. i have a profile type mag on them and no mention there. i found it, it is the profile, the white one not the dinky red covers.
