Diorama Question: WWII European Gas Stations?

Sep 17, 2004 1 Replies

found this resin gas pump and was wondering how gas was dispensed in Europe in the 30-40's. Gas stations? a pump outside a "general store"?

was thinking of a humorous scene with an out of gas tanker checking out the pump...

thx - Craig

I think your best bet is for a car mechanics workshop with a pump or two outside. This may be no more than a barn or shed with a car inside with a few oil patches outside and the like. You could just have the main doors shut and a few posters for Shell Oil, Esso fuel etc outside depending on the country in question.

has a picture of a BP Energol pump in France circa 1926, looks a lot like your kit.

Also suggest a look at
