the poses in this Italeri kit are mixed with figures in action and walking. Thought the Goliath was most likely not used in combat. Wrong?
this mix of subjects seems like a mish mash or am I missing something....
thx - Craig

found a review - seems its old Esci stuff. Not thrilled with spending extra for their figures... I'll pass on this one.
some google searches make it sound like the goliath was not terribly successful. probably noisy and easy to spot too.

Goliath saw some operational use, including Normandy. Not very effective, as it could be detonated by small arms fire, but it could be used against bunkers or to clear minefields. One writer in Normandy came across several recon Jeeps that had swerved off a road and crashed. The Germans had placed a Goliath on the road around a tight corner and advanced it toward the oncoming Jeep, which would swerve to avoid it. The Germans never even had to detonate it. As for kits, the Dragon kit is newer and better detailed with better figures than the old 1970's vintage Esci/Italeri item. GPO
And for you 1/48 scale fans, I bought the Tamiya Kettenkraftrad from HLJ at the Nationals. It comes with a utility trailer, small arms, and a Goliath with transport trailer. hth
