Italeri 1/72 Super Cobra Skid color?

Ok, so it's a slammer. Italeri's 1/72 Super Cobra AH-1W. But the box art and painting instructions are in marked disagreement.

Cover art has the skids as dk green, painting instructionsON THE BACK OF THE SAME BOX has them black.

Has anyone got a color profile, a walk around, or knows firsthand about the grey, green and black scheme for the Whiskey Cobras (hellfire and rocket pods)

In the grand cosmic scale of things it's not very important, but the anal-retentive in me would like it to be 'right'

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you've misunderstood the situation.

I don't know for sure about the AH-1W skids but I can tell you that the skids of the dozen or so AH-1J's that use to be stationed at the Colorado Air Nat Guard unit in Denver, Colorado use to have , gray, black, tan, zinc Chromate yellow/green, and probably a couple of other colors that I don't recall. I think it depended what color of spray can they had in the maintenance hanger when the machine was being worked on.

I can only guess that it's the same for the W's, but I can't say for sure.

Well in a real unit they would be the body color over the zinc chromate primer BUT they would have a non-skid coating on top of that. In reality it would be worn off in a few areas and the ground handling wheels would score them up also. I would say paint them green then the top half's black to replicate the anti-skit coating.
