Hi,
I am trying to locate a model manufacturer who makes the US Gearing-class destroyer in either 1/350 or 1/700 scale. This is going to be built as a gift for a former sailor who was stationed on one during the early 80s'. I'm a wargamer myself, so I assume that most of the same techniques I use in building/painting plastic miniatures (ie Warhamer, etc.) would be the same for the ship.

PS - I've read some posts on different boards that I'd need an additional kit to build it as post-FRAM 2. Is this correct, or do the models come in different varieties (WWII/FRAM1/FRAM2)?
