Pin Vises

Ok, let's try and get a thread going that is on topic. Just why do we need a pin vises in our toolboxes for? I askbecause in one of the info packets/booklets that Testor's has at their web site they recommend it. A "pin" vise holds cylindrical objects like small drill bits. A "hand" vise is the thing that holds other parts.
