The ones on the sides and around the turret? Yeah, quite a few of those.

Yes. I have one. It's an Italaerie (old spelling) 1/35 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf. (H). Kit # 218. Shurzen (shields) around the hull and turret. It's at least 25 years old.

I'm pretty sure Tamiya did one also. Monogram had one in 1/32nd scale back in the early 1970s, and DML almost has to have one considering their plethora of Panzer IV kits.

That's odd; most of the time they had both mounted. I did find a photo from around the time of the Battle Of The Bulge with just the turret set mounted though:

's some pictures of what one looked like with the side armor:

they are supposed to do is cause bazooka rounds to detonate before they hit the hull of the tank. IIRC on some of the last Panzer IVs the side screens were made of wire screen, not solid metal sheet.

Eduard had both standard and mesh Shurzen:

a pinch, the side plates could be made out of sheet styrene fairly easily.

The reason there are no side skirts on that one is because the tank has the track extenders for snow and soft ground, and the side skirts cannot be mounted.

The widened track on the Mk 4, and others, was called 'Winterketten' (winter track). It may have also been called 'Ostketten' (east(ern) track) which was used on the eastern front and also all Tiger tracks. I don't know if there is a definitive difference between the two, although they look different.
