The bottom line is....if you don't like a subject or you don't like a poster,

The onus is also on the poster to try at least to make his/her/it's contribution to the forum on-topic. Small forays into OTness do occur and are largely over-looked - huge OT threads tend to get people annoyed and will result in the use of a kill-file against the worst "offenders".
