re: Soviet vehicle ID!

Thats a puzzler for sure! The rear end is wrong for the KV series as they had prominant transmission covers. Also a KVII had vertical turret sides and the KVI had a pronounced overhang to the turret bustle, although the side were tapered upwards. From what I can see of the road wheels they look a lot like the outward dished wheels of the PT76 family but the rear deck is not deep enough for the 76 IS2 is a possibility but the track don't look "butch" enough. I can't help wondering if it's not a "special" perhaps built on the chassis of one of the PT family. Some soviet armour has reputedly been seen in a heavy agricultural role or perhaps logging. Given it's location it's may be a purpose built radiological monitoring vehicle. All in all a conundrum.

No conundrum, it was a T-64 chassis as I noted earlier.

Sorry, didn't see that post! My newsreaders sometimes twitchy. That certainly explains the suspension. All the stowage bins are missing and any ideas about that superstructure?

First post opined it may have been jury-rigged for Chernobyl, at which point you don't want to get with 100 meters of it!
