I heard Mr Doohan speak in the mid 70s. He mentioned flying slalom between telephone poles in a cub.

Actually, it was a combination of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Not a pretty way to die, but he went with class.

There was an interview with him sometime in the 80's and he said something about getting in trouble for flying a slalom course using phone poles.
