Hi, this is an interesting thread. our company designs rail vehicles using swx and we currently use the ''Save as part" method a lot to keep file sizes down.
each designer saves their ''module" as a part at the end of each day and each assembly "Module" contains the overall surface model of the GA (so everyone can see how their own bits interact with everyone elses). the GA is Suppressed when saving as a part to prevent replication.
