Re: SaladWorks Product Loyalists Are Often The Wrong Source For The Truth

Jon,

Seriously, why don't you just go away? This is a forum for Solidworks users to help each other, not to read your incessant nonsense. Go get a girlfriend, rent a movie, have a nice dinner; just leave us alone. Please.

I second that motion.

In Outlook Express NewsReader, I'm able to block messages based upon the sender's name. So, Jon B and Cliff, I don't miss your nonsense since I no longer have to view it.

Jon,

There is no "truth". I have seen people like you my entire career. I did not "attack" you, I simply asked that you would go away. You see (taking my "talking to a 12 year old child voice") this is a forum for people that are generous enough to take some time away from their busy day WORKING to have a look and see if they can help each other out. You, on the other hand, spend a great deal of time trying to incite people with your drivel. No one here really cares whether VX or whatever it is you carry on about is better or not. You see, as I said, we're working. I, for one, have created product after product using "Saladworks". If you were a strong enough person to step up, you would reveal to all exactly the nature of your business, and how many products, machines, devices, etc. that you have created using VX (or whatever). But you won't; you'll continue to throw in your nonsense as if anyone cares. Up until this point, I haven't killfiled you, simply because you were like a cartoon; funny every now and then, but never anything to take seriously. But now, you just remind me of a whining child. As I said before, I have seen your kind through-out my career; you are most likely not an engineer, if you are, it's by title only (instead of money, they told you you are an engineer, congrats!). You involve the real engineers around you in inane conversations about "Saladworks vs. VX" etc. and no one cares; they just politely smile in your face and go back to WORK. This has completely escaped you, no one listens to you because you say nothing. You do not have an opinion; you copy and paste links to other peoples opinions, you offer nothing. You would do better to take a hint from the people posting here; have you ever noticed that they ask questions regarding a particular JOB they are doing, not this nonsense you eschew?

I could go on forever, but I have work to do, using this broken, useless piece of software that means so much to your pitiful existance. Without Saladworks to complain about, you would have no reason to get up in the morning. I, on the other hand, have people that are excited to see the next thing that I create using this software.

Goodbye Jon... plonk.

Why do you have to resort to calling SolidWorks by another name such as SaladWorks?

Jon, did you actually read the "white paper" you posted? I did. I see no indication that the white paper was directed towards any possible shortcomings with SolidWorks or any other CAD package. What I read dealt with the problems faced by small and medium sized manufacturers that utilize CAM software to translate CAD model geometry for use in fabrication.

Surely you can see the reasons why there is a difference between CAM and CAD software? Each intended end user has a different need to complete their work.

The PDF points out short comings with CAM software moreso than CAD software, especially since the document was directed more towards machine shops than design firms.

You should either retract or clarify your last statement. I've designed thousands of components and mechanisms in my career. The ability to manufacture what I design has never hinged on the software that I had to use or that was available to anyone making them.
