In Solidworks 2008 how do you turn off the reflection of the part?

If you mean the shadow, it is in the options.

Are you talking about RealView or the shadow under the part? Look up in the Heads Up Display at the top of the graphics window to toggle both on/off.

If you RMB while your cursor is in the HUD area you can toggle on/off specific toolbar icons to customize the HUD to your liking.

Anna

hi,

Either turn off real view or choose a scene that has no reflection.

There are files you can edit if you want to design your own scene... C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\data\graphics\Scenes open these with notepad.

Take a look at a scene with a reflection and replace the reflective floor line with a line from a scene without one. eg: open: 02 studio scenes\11 reflective floor checkered.P2S in notepad replace- floor visible reflective "Materials\miscellaneous\studio materials\checker_floor_bright.p2m" with- floor visible nonreflective "Materials\miscellaneous\studio materials\shadow floor.p2m" save

restart SW and you will have your editted scene avaliable

Thanks, J
