I read some of the information on SW web site on the steps to update versions of SW. I am wondering if there is any other thoughts to do the change over smoothly. i.e... things to watch for.

Hi,
I completely uninstalled SW03, and delete all SW folders even in common files and C:\Documents and Settings folder( you can search solidworks), then restart computer, then install SW04.
