Hi group using twin-coil switch machines. Provided you use DC and not AC on your switch machines - they work much, much better this way the following applies.
If you want a steady indication of the last switch position Atlas sells a too expensive "snap relay" for about $6.00. Loys Toys had a bunch of "surplus" low ohms (5v) latching relays for $1.00 to $1.50. If placed in parallel with the coils they will latch up and show the last switch position until changed. This is also assuming you are using capacitive discharge or never holding a button down - you will and fry both the relay and the switch machine. All you have to do is to lean over the panel to work on something and a button or several will be helkd down. Use DC and use cap discharge.
