Hi, I'm planning on using a Walthers background building called ""Imperial Food Products".
I need this industry to accept both reefers and tank cars. Can someone let me know, logically, what type of load would this use for tank cars?
Thanks! Scott

I believe that corn syrup is the most popular food item to ship via tank cars. Ship them corn syrup in your tankers and dairy in your reefers and you'll have all the ice cream you could ever dream of!

Oils. (vegetable / cooking / etc). Vinegar, and the like. Corn Syrup, Molasses, Maple Syrup, etc. Fruit or Vegetable Juices. Soy Sauce and the like. Milk (if there are dairy farms nearby).
Basically just about any liquid foodstuff you would buy in a bottle or can at the store, esp. anything that keeps well.
Oh, Imperial Food Products is likely to get plain old box cars too (packaging products, seasonings, and such). And possibly (grain) hoppers.

You could letter the plant for Soylent Green Foods and put a string of coaches out front. :-)
Eric
Aren't Soylent food products grown in hothouses??
I didn't see any grown in factories!!!

Make Room! Make Room!
Go rent the movie by that name. Edward G. Robinson is in it.

A couple of years ago the president of the MR club I was a member of made a comment about how a all-door coach would make sense for commuter coaches and subways cars. Naturally there was several minutes of jokes about how we germans perfected using boxcars to move people culminating an 'official' annoucement of stating that the all doors on the layout would be named "XXX" coaches. XXX being the name of the club president. I may or may not have been responsible. I plead the fifth.
Then I came across this link.
Might make an interesting scene on a model railroad.
Eric
Dear Sir:
Read the site. Evil has a name...and its name is Kansas City Southern... And the mark of Trinity Industries shall adorn the White Autoracks of Doom!
Heh.
Anyway, I am pretty sure the French are the world leaders in the side-door pullman. '40 hommes 8 chevaux'.
Cordially yours, Gerard P.
Oh? Then there was the one back in the '70s about the executive order for concentration camps for when they round up suspected "leftists" (e.g., people who have used library cards).
But we all feel safer now, right?
Even though we seem to be in a 1984-ish state of permanent War, at least according to out brave war-time prexy.
I was thinking of doing a diorama of about half a dozen of these cars with a big UN painted on the side spotted next to a siding with a stockpen filled with figurines. A chain link fence around the siding, the cars and the stock pen with russian tanks and other AFVs painted white encircling the fence with armed soldier figures outside. Snap a few pictures and send them to these sites and tell them that 'It's Started'. I bet they wouldn't be able to tell that they're models. ;-)
A couple of years ago I took a photo of a black cushman cart like the police use and sent it into some of the black helicopter sites with the caption 'a disturbing new development'. They were not amused. Why do the conspiracy theory folks have no sense of humor?
Eric
Requires a certain mental agility they lack.
Because they're all barking mad? Crazy people don't generally seem to have a sense of humour.
"Human shackles" built into autoracks?
Barking mad!
