I order a pair of Williams Union Pacific E7 A-A's. They arrived and I spent some time running them today. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Paint and detailing is quite good with wire handrails, grab irons and brass see-thru screens. They compare quite well with the Lionel version of the UP E7s.
In fact, I like the truck details, hydraulics, suspension etc much better on the Williams. The Lionel has a few details the Williams doesn't have and visa versa. The Williams is almost $400 less.
The Williams has two large motors with a hell of a lot of pulling power. What runners they are! These engines just fly on my O72 curves and straights. Plus they come with a lifetime warranty.
The sound is just OK but can be replaced with an after market Railsounds kit.
