ebay is your friend if they don't find homes otherwise

Thanks Jill, I don't expect money for them. I'm not sure if they are of any particular merit to our heritage.

You would be surprised I would say that everything has someone who is interested in it

I have picked up various obscure things because an ancestor was related to the item or a location There are also the folks who simply like collecting

Andrew - I would be *extremely excited* (sad I know) to give these a careful and very good home. More than that, I'd pay or make a contribution to a charity of your choice, because Jill's right, you'd probably get a few quid for them on Ebay.

We open our (very) smallholding to the public a few times a year, having transformed it into a 1940s farm, complete with Olivers and Fordsons (plus a heavy nag or two), Women's Land Army, WVS, Home Guard, etc. etc. We even have an Anderson Shelter in the garden! Books and paperwork like this really help to "set the scene" and we find out useful things that we convey to the public.

Let me know if they're still available and I'll send you a snailmail address. TIA.

Elaine, yours and Andrew's reply arrived here at about the same time, can we agree a split between both of you?

I've set the follow ups to uba only, it looks like the despammed address is not letting mail through atm so my e-mail address is my initials at sylva.icuklive.co.uk

Might I ask if that has a pricetag on the front cover?

My reason for asking is that I recently acquired their handbook of wide bandsaws, a pamphlet of similar size. It was priced at 10/- 6d. ! That seems a staggering amount to have paid for a thin book back in the '60s.

In Lewis Carroll's day you could get a hat for that much.

Thanks, that seems a lot more reasonable.
