I know why I haven't gone rusty. For the horologists out there, this is taken from the British Horological Institute site. Their hints and tips page makes excellent tea break reading

John, Interesting, thanks for posting it. I personally advocate the electrolytic system in the index, and it gets rid of paint as well. This means it's easier, quieter and cheaper than wire wheels for cleaning up old engine bits.

I'll be browsing this a bit more, being a closet "clockie"
