Well Martin was obviously having a senior moment when he spoke to me. I timed things just right, got there early and left just as the rains arrived. Purchases were fairly general, 3 sockets, a pair of car ramps to replace some I made at school that weigh almost more than I can lift and a petrol hedge trimmer (engine content at last). I'd arranged to meet Kim at home to press an armature further onto a generator shaft. Unfortunately we=92d missed each other all morning. He called to say he was leaving just as I was about to buy what I'd found. As a result I left about 15 mins behind him so had an enthusiastic trip home trying to make up time. Fortunately the rozzers with the speed gun on the A40 were concentrating on the other carriageway. Once home, my heath robinson press did a good job of moving the reluctant pieces of metal past each other. It's nice to do a job like that with a surfeit of oompf available. A cup of tea was then very welcome. Bid goodbye to Kim and prepare myself for my son=92s 6th birthday party, but that=92s another story.

Unfortunately the likes of Specsavers only cater for 85% of the glasses wearing population, I fall into the 15% leftovers so there is nothing they can do for me :-))

Make sure the "test" tells you your IPD (inter-pupillary distance) if you want them to fit and work correctly.

My one and only experience of Specsavers was disastrous (3 or 4 lenses, before I gave up) as they didn't do the IPD to fit, just off the shelf.
