OT if you must, but an interesting tale of trying to update a basically pre war (WW1 that is!) design to cope with far more power than its designer could ever have imagined.

's a bit long but worth reading, I particularly enjoyed the bit about 'The man from the Institute of Metal' and the origin of the EN series of steel specs.
