On the subject of ViTrains...

Have they announced any plans for other models, rather than more 37s in different liveries?

Well don't tell anyone but I heard that a class 47 is imminent.

Commercial suicide - the 37s have not sold, and I can't see a whole raft of

47s being any better especially when Heljan have theirs now selling around the GBP55.00 (RRP) mark and Bachmann's model has been pretty well received.

It's about time Vitrains looked for a genuine gap in the market and tried to plug that. I'd suggest some quality items of rolling stock, rather than just another duplicated locomotive.

They are a 'new' company ... how about a futuristic loco and rolling stock ?

I personally feel all model makers should concentrate, heading towards Christmas, upon releasing loco's children can see on their local railway tracks most days of the year.

Apart from the riveted window frames from the class 57.

They do make a few other locos too. Looks like Euro models though, but these are quite futurist, if you can find a supplier.

Very easily rectified if the modeller chooses, but I accept that's a typical Bachmann gaff!

I wouldn't invest MY money on one!

They've released a 37/0 (not a 47) but it's far from being 'unmodernised'. It's the variation with the buffer beam skirts removed, so whether that can legitimately released in BR green is questionable.

A 47? What a mad choice.

Personally, I was hoping they'd look at the AC electrics since Bachmann have never been interested and the Hornby/Lima offerings are getting very long-in-the-tooth. Hornby have sold Virgin MK2s asn Mk3s and a Virgin DVT (even if it is a MK4), but try getting an 87 to stick on the front (or back)...

Well, they could always dip into the current scene EMU market - both o/h and

3rd rail - since most of our trains are now electric units, it seems really stupid that no manufacturers are willing to look at this market. Of course, I'd prefer to see some historical units myself, like 4TC and 4-REP ;-)
