Packs of Small Drills

Has anybody got one of those packs of small drills that come in a blue pack with a clear top, drill size 0.6 to 1.6. I assume that the clear top slides to allow the drills to slide out of the small hole but apart from breaking the pack open I can't see how to get the damn things out. Another clever design that doesn't work or is it so clever that I haven't sussed it out yet.

Slide so hole is over bit required. Make sure hole is at the bottom and tap case to move bit. Don't do as I did and then drop bit on to carpet where it gets instantly lost in carpet pile. The case must be dry tho', if it is damp the bits tend to stick to the case. Alternatively just break the case and insert the bits in a trip of blue tak atahced to paper with the size markings on the side. I eventually got fed up with the blue cases ;o)

Just line up the hole over the bit you want, tap the bottom and the drill drops out. The bottom of the case, that is, not.... oh, never mind!

I can only assume that with my one the two parts are on the top and bottom of the tolerance limits and the bloody thing just doesn't slide apart. I've poked screw drivers in it and still I can't slide the thing apart. I assume that normally the things slide part easily.

There is a clip at the end and it often requires significant flexing at the end to release the clip, once you have done that it will slide OK. Keith

The clip is often the "hang it on a shelf" tag, and sometimes needs snapping off to open the packet. But usually just bending back a little.

I've even done that and still it wont slide back, oh well. I can only assume that the ones that I have have been made incorrectly. I've found a small block of foam out of some packing so I think that I will be sticking the drills in that.
