Scotsman piece needed

Mar 08, 2005 8 Replies

Hi all

Just received a stunning Flying Scotsman, vintage 2003 which unfortunately has a broken front left hand corner - it seems the whole thing has been snapped off. Anyway, I am hoping someone might have a piece from a similar mishap that could be integrated. Any help much appreciated - and no, the seller doesn't have the bit

Pic available if it helps

many thanks

Steve

Apologies, your original post didn't make that clear.

It may be possible to get the part(s) you need from one or two retailers who specialise in both obsolete & current Hornby spares. Model Rail Spares in Burnley is one such retailer.

it's brand new and apart from this damage is lovely - and at 18 pounds was what I believe to be a bargain..... I can repair it but thought to ask on the newsgroup if someone lay have had a badly broken one that I could remove the front from and integrate it - I apologise for being unclear

Steve

I understand what you need. When I lost a smoke deflector from a West Country, I E Mailed Hornbys customer service to ask where to but a replacement. They went one step better and sent me one for free. Maybe if you ask them, you might be lucky as well. HTH Rob

brilliant advice!

thanks

Steve
