As my layout is set in Cumberland in the late 50s I need a couple of Ribble buses. Does anyone know if EFE or Corgi (or anyone else) has produced such a model? Mike H

If not someone will have done a repaint after all its red and white or white and red, like most national bus's with Ribble written on the side
EFE are planning to release a Leyland Duple Half Cab this month (catalogue Number 26805).
Previous releases include Harrington Cavalier (12108), Leyland PD2/12 Orion (20002), Leyland PD1 Highbridge (15902), Leyland Atlantean (16501), Plaxton Panorama (15702) and Leyland National (14301).
This list is not necessarily exclusive and some models will be outside your time frame but there will certainly be something suitable.
OOC (Corgi) also have Ribble buses in their 1/76 range but I do not have details to hand.

EFE would be your best bet. They have several listed that would suit the late 50s. The following link should help.

There is one Corgi model that might be suitable too. This site has a picture but the model itself is listed as sold out, but you can probably pick one up on eBay.

It's worth using as many different search words as possible on eBay as items like this are often listed in the wrong section and can sometime be picked up for peanuts.

I thought Ribble were a Lancashire firm and stopped at Preston, did they really operate into Cumberland?

Though based in Preston, Ribble had many services in Westmorland, and in Cumberland too. They started services in Carlisle in 1929, and continued until their services were taken over by Cumberland in 1986. At one stage they took over the services from United.

Me too!!!! The 313 to Chorley was usually one of those (or something older). It would fit my layout time-frame nicely too... I feel a purchase coming on!
