6010 beads

If you use a whipping motion you can get some really beautiful beads with

6010, in ANY position. It takes some timing and paying close attention to your rhythm but it's worth it, especially for overhead applications.

Oh yeah, and its great for cutting apart cars too!

IMHO, this rod is used to teach welding because it teaches a very basic tactic in welding ......... watch the puddle. It is easily whipped and maintains an arc. You can put a dab here, a dab there, or run continuous beads.

Mostly 6011, 6013, 7018, & 7024 used to teach here in Newfoundland. Always start with 6011.
